Projected Minimum Wage Increases

Increases in cost of living places greater demands on workers seeking promising job opportunities. Several states initiated proactive measures to raise yearly minimum wage. Fifteen states automatically raise employee earnings based on the cost of living. Raise The Minimum Wage outlines the following states indexing yearly minimum wage: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, and Washington. Raise The Minimum Wage also notes five states projected to increase minimum wage in the coming years: Alaska in 2017, D.C. in 2017, Michigan in 2019, Minnesota in 2018, South Dakota in 2016, and Vermont in 2019.

Fuel Prices And Employment Rates: Does one Influence the Other?

Abundant oil supply and not enough demand are causing a drop in gasoline prices. Does saving a little cash at the gas pump influence economic growth and employment rates? Gerald Celente, publisher of Trends Journal and researcher at Trends Institute, comments on the decrease in oil prices. When interviewed by a reporter Celente shares how lower gasoline prices helps some consumers, yet offers little assistance for people with high debts and poor income jobs.
